On the morning of October 29, 2026, Hanoi Law University welcomed and held a working meeting with a delegation from the Ministry of Justice of Laos. The main focus of the meeting was the handover and reception of two Lao officials who will pursue their studies in Vietnam under the University’s scholarship programme.

Overview of the meeting

The event reaffirmed the strong commitment of the leadership of both institutions to promoting cooperation in legal education and professional training.

The Lao delegation included Mr. Valitxay Kokmila, Deputy Director of the Department of Personnel Organization, and the two officials who will study at Hanoi Law University: Mr. Viengmanikham Voravong, Deputy Head of Division of the Department of Personnel Organization, and Mr. Phatsone Thongthip, an officer of the Department of Justice of Champasak Province.

Representing Hanoi Law University was Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Quang, Vice Rector of the University.

During the meeting, the leadership of Hanoi Law University expressed its pleasure at welcoming the delegation from the Lao Ministry of Justice and extended a warm welcome to its members. The arrival of the two Lao officials to study in Vietnam marks a meaningful step towards translating the cooperation commitments between the two sides into concrete action.

Previously, in May 2026, the University approved full scholarships for the two officials from the Lao Ministry of Justice to study Vietnamese and undertake postgraduate studies in Vietnam.

The meeting not only marked an important step in implementing the study plan and ensuring the best possible conditions for the Lao officials, but also reaffirmed Hanoi Law University’s political responsibility and special commitment to training and developing legal human resources for the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
