Hanoi Law University (HLU), with nearly half a century of history,  takes pride in being Vietnam’s premier institution for legal education — a place where knowledge, integrity, and the aspiration to serve justice converge. Since its founding, HLU has trained over 100,000 graduates, including bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree holders. Many of them today are prominent statesmen in the government, judges, prosecutors, lawyers, notaries, arbitrators, and legal practitioners, as well as entrepreneurs and legal experts of influence both in Vietnam and abroad. These achievements stand as living proof of the mission we have consistently pursued: to provide a highly qualified legal workforce, to conduct and transfer cutting-edge legal research, and to disseminate legal thought in support of building and strengthening the Socialist Rule-of-Law State of Vietnam and advancing international integration.

HLU is not only a place for legal instruction; it is also where students are inspired to become citizens of intellect and courage, embodying humanitarian values and the rule of law, ready to defend justice, serve the people, and contribute to the nation. Our students are trained to be self-directed learners, critical thinkers, skilled debaters, and globally minded professionals. They learn to link theory with practice, from classroom lectures and moot courts to internships at state agencies, courts, procuracies, law firms, and enterprises.

Amid the waves of globalization, digital transformation, and the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), coupled with the unpredictability of global affairs, We — the leadership, faculty, and staff— remain steadfast in accompanying our partners and learners with the commitment to build an academic environment that is rigorous yet modern, theoretical yet practice-oriented.
