During the course, HLU students attended specialised lectures delivered by NUE faculty on a range of topics, including Civil Life and Law, Enterprise Law, State and Law, Litigation Process and Law, Crime and Law, and International Society and Law. These academic sessions enabled students to explore legal issues from an international perspective while providing opportunities to exchange ideas and discuss the role of law in the development of modern society.
In addition to academic activities, the programme provided opportunities for HLU students to interact with NUE faculty members and students through cultural and academic exchange activities. In particular, HLU students delivered presentations introducing Vietnamese culture and the Vietnamese legal system, thereby promoting Vietnam, its people, traditional cultural values, and the fundamental features of its legal system to international friends.
Alongside the academic programme, students participated in a variety of practical activities to gain deeper insights into Japan’s history, culture, and socio-economic development. They attended a thematic session on the history of Inuyama City and visited Inuyama Castle and several museums, including the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology, where students learned about the development of Japan’s automobile industry, its spirit of innovation, and distinctive management practices within Japanese enterprises.
In particular, the Court Observation activity gave students an opportunity to directly observe court proceedings in Japan. This experience enabled them to gain practical insights into judicial procedures and the organisation and operation of the Japanese justice system, making it particularly valuable for law students.
Beyond academic and research activities, students also had opportunities to explore local culture, cuisine, and daily life, thereby gaining a deeper understanding of the history, traditions, and distinctive cultural characteristics of Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun.
The 2026 Summer Course at Nagoya University of Economics was a meaningful initiative in the effective implementation of the cooperation between the two universities. The programme not only contributed to enhancing the academic, research, and international integration capabilities of HLU students but also further strengthened the cooperative relationship between Hanoi Law University and Nagoya University of Economics, Japan.
