This year's course welcomes 22 international students from HLU's partner universities, including HTW Berlin University of Applied Sciences, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Deakin University, National University of Management, and RUDN University.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Quang warmly welcomed the international students and expressed his pleasure that they had chosen Hanoi Law University as their destination for this summer's study programme. He emphasised that, from this day forward, the students were not only guests but had become members of the HLU academic community.
Highlighting the significance of the course, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Quang stated: “Today not only marks the beginning of an academic programme, but also the beginning of new conversations, new friendships, and new opportunities for international cooperation.”
Against the backdrop of increasingly deep international integration, the Vice President noted that the study and research of law could no longer be confined within the boundaries of a single country. Future legal professionals need a broader understanding of different legal systems, technological developments, global issues, and cultural diversity. The Summer Course provides an opportunity for students from different countries to exchange ideas and learn from one another, thereby gaining a deeper understanding of both the similarities and differences among legal systems, as well as the historical and cultural contexts of each country.
In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Quang encouraged HLU students to embrace their role as “ambassadors” of the University, taking the initiative to engage with, support, and accompany international students while introducing them to the people, culture, and country of Vietnam.
On the occasion of the opening ceremony, the Organising Committee presented 22 international students with souvenirs reflecting Vietnamese cultural identity as a warm welcome and a wish for them to have many memorable experiences during their time studying in Vietnam.

Over the next two weeks, participants will take part in a wide range of academic and cultural activities. In addition to specialised lectures and discussions on contemporary legal issues, students will have opportunities to explore the culture, history, cuisine, and daily life of Hanoi, as well as interact and connect with students of Hanoi Law University.
The Opening Ceremony concluded in a joyful and hopeful atmosphere, marking the beginning of an exciting journey of learning, cultural exchange, and connection for international students at Hanoi Law University during the summer of 2026.
