| Read the article |The Faculty of Civil Law and Civil Procedure at Hanoi Law University is a core academic unit specializing in civil law, family law, property law, and civil procedural law. Originally formed as part of the University’s legal training structure, the Faculty was officially established as a distinct academic faculty to respond to growing educational and societal needs in civil justice and private legal affairs. The Faculty is responsible for:
· Teaching and Learning: Providing undergraduate and postgraduate instruction in civil law, family law, inheritance law, contract law, torts, and civil procedure;
· Curriculum Development: Designing and regularly updating curricula to reflect legal reform and contemporary civil justice issues;
· Research and Scholarly Activities: Conducting research and organising seminars, workshops, and moot court competitions to deepen academic dialogue and practical skills;
· Community Engagement: Facilitating activities such as student court simulations, partnership
programmes with legal institutions, and public legal education events.
Through these efforts, the Faculty ensures that students acquire rigorous
knowledge and practical competencies essential for legal practice, academia,

The Faculty comprises several specialised academic divisions, including Civil Law, Civil Procedure Law, Family and Inheritance Law, and Intellectual Property Law (as part of civil law practice). According to the Faculty’s organisational records, it includes a departmental leadership team, multiple subject groups, and the Centre for Intellectual Property Law. The Faculty has a strong team of 44 full-time lecturers, including 9 Associate Professors, 22 PhD holders, 7 doctoral candidates, and 9 Master’s degree holders, reflecting substantial academic capacity.
