Recently, the Semi-finals of The ASEAN Moot 2026 (National Round) took place with high intensity. After hours of fiery debate, teams from Hanoi Law University and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam officially secured their spots in the Grand Final.

The ASEAN Moot is a major initiative by the ASEAN Law Association (ALA) General Assembly, designed to provide a professional forum for law students from member countries to exchange knowledge and compete.

• Organizers: In 2026, Hanoi Law University (HLU), in collaboration with the Vietnam Lawyers Association (VLA), is hosting the National Round.
• Objective: To select the most outstanding team to represent Vietnam at the International Round in Thailand this July.
• Legal Focus: This year’s theme focuses on International Investment Law, applying the Arbitration Rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
• Format: Contestants must argue entirely in English, covering both Jurisdiction and the Merits of the case.

The Semi-finals brought together elite teams from the country’s leading legal training institutions. The judging panel consisted of lawyers and experts from prestigious international firms such as Nishimura & Asahi and Allen Overy Shearman Sterling, alongside experienced faculty members from HLU.

• Time & Venue: The Final Round and Award Ceremony will be held at Hall A.403, Hanoi Law University, on April 4, 2026.
• Grand Prize: The winning team will receive the championship cup and a full sponsorship package to attend the International Round in Thailand in July 2026.

This event promises to be an explosive showdown between the two "powerhouses" of legal education in Vietnam today.
